TheSPORTbible are expanding the team and are looking for an Assistant Editor to join us, and whilst we consider experience important, we are just as interested in your passion and determination to disrupt the landscape of social media. We need our people to care about every single piece of content. It’s in our DNA and it’s what drives us to achieve amazing things.

The Role:

As our Assistant Editor for TheSPORTbible you will be responsible for working closely alongside the Publisher where you will ensure TheSPORTbible covers audience-relevant breaking news and features promptly, accurately and in our unique tone. You will think strategically to drive insight and grow the social and content output as well as maximising the reach of all content posted on social media (likes, shares, reach etc).

You will work together with a team of Writers ensuring well-packaged, well-written and well-researched trending articles are produced with an aim to continually grow traffic and engagement numbers.

The Person:

• Previous experience within a similar role gained from a well-established newsroom or publisher
• A strong understanding or passion for sport is essential for this role
• Experience of managing a team as well as developing junior members of a team
• High standard of writing, grammar and punctuation
• Target driven
• Proven ability to imagine and produce new and original ideas to continuously deliver unique and engaging content
• A strong awareness and understanding of current markets, trends and competitors’ actions
• The internal drive to achieve set targets/deadlines and remain attentive and committed to the given task
• A proven ability to think, imagine and produce new and original ideas to continuously deliver unique and engaging content.
• Outstanding research, proofreading, editing skills and writing skills.
• Holding an NCTJ is desirable
