Leon is the founder of BCOMS and a leading sports consultant and entrepreneur.
A former BBC and ITV Sport presenter and producer, Leon has worked at the highest level of the sports media in a number of different roles. Having been an anti-racism campaigner with Kick It Out at the start of his career he has also been centrally involved in actions to increase diversity across the sport and media industry for more than 20 years.
Leon is also the vice chair of the Sports Journalists Association and was awarded an MBE for services to diversity in sport and media in 2021.
Mahari Hay is a Freeman of the City of London, accomplished finance specialist, and CEO and Co-Founder of the Community, Corporate & Culture Group. With over 20 years of experience in finance, strategy, and social impact, Mahari has built a reputation as a transformative leader who bridges the worlds of commerce, culture, and community development.
Throughout his career, Mahari has worked with public and private sector organisations to design financial strategies that are both commercially sound and socially responsible. His expertise lies in helping businesses and institutions unlock capital, manage risk, and implement inclusive economic practices. As a Freeman of the City of London, he leverages this historic title to champion civic engagement and equitable opportunity within the financial sector.
At the helm of the Community, Corporate & Culture Group, Mahari leads innovative initiatives that align corporate responsibility with grassroots needs. His leadership has fostered impactful collaborations between corporations, local communities, and cultural institutions, creating sustainable pathways for economic empowerment. Passionate about legacy, leadership, and long-term impact, Mahari continues to advocate for systems that support diversity, resilience, and generational wealth-building.
Jo Ogunleye is Head of Communications for Google’s Marketing & Advertising businesses, spanning YouTube, Sports, Retail, Finance, Auto, Travel and more. She sits on the UK Black Googler Network’s Steering Committee and was the first Black [guest] editor of PRWeek. Jo has been recognised among PRWeek’s 30 Under 30, Provoke Media’s Top 25 EMEA Innovators (2024), and PRWeek’s annual Powerbook list for five consecutive years.
She serves as a Trustee for the Taylor Bennett Foundation and Board Member at BCOMS, organisations committed to improving racial diversity in communications and sports media. In 2024, she was named #1 in the Involve Empower Future Leaders list.
A sought-after speaker and coach, Jo champions representation, career storytelling and leadership visibility. Through her consultancy, she’s secured partnerships with brands like LinkedIn, the Mayor of London and Thursday dating app. She’s currently ranked LinkedIn’s #2 female storyteller and supports professionals and organisations through coaching, CV advisory, strategic branding and industry networking.
Jordan is a Sports, Media and Entertainment Lawyer with experience in private practice and in-house for brands such as Universal Music Group, TikTok and Netflix.
Jordan has had the pleasure of working on deals in the industry with household names such as Team GB, Paralympics GB, Premier League, La Liga, FA, Matchroom, UEFA, FIFA, Gucci, NBA, Spotify, EA Sports, Six Nations and ATP.
Outside of the day job, Jordan enjoys regularly speaking at conferences such as LawinSport, and at universities such as The University of Oxford, The University of Manchester and UCL, to empower the next generation of sports lawyers. He has also created legal internship schemes and events at companies he has worked at to provide more access for students in the profession.
Jordan is an Arsenal fan; he also enjoys going to the gym and running, as well as watching boxing, one of his favourite sports.
Mayowa Quadri is a multifaceted creative and consultant who enjoys the art of storytelling. A self- proclaimed conversationalist, Mayowa has become a leader in the new-era of sports media with a focus on culture and wider society.
Having been a member of the first BCOMS masterclass group, Mayowa has since carried the same faith shown in him to aid a new generation of creatives and journalists in the space. His passion comes from ensuring that the sports media space is not only diverse, but also accessible for people from ethnic backgrounds.
Mayowa also serves as a board member of the Sports Journalism Association and was a Sports Next Gen Leader for 2023.
Sarah Nicholas-Kyei is the Global Communications Manager at Octagon, a leading global sports and entertainment creative agency. For over three years, she has played a key role in shaping the agency’s communications strategy, supporting its work across athlete representation and end-to-end, 360 campaigns for clients at world-class events including the UEFA Euros, The Masters, the Olympics, the FIFA World Cup, and major rugby and football tournaments.
With a strong foundation in PR, Sarah’s background spans top agencies and high-profile work in consumer brands, luxury and celebrity personal PR – representing well-known names and elite athletes.
Entrepreneurial, creative, and highly organised, she brings energy and professionalism to every project. Her friendly, collaborative nature, combined with sharp strategic thinking and strong leadership skills, makes her a trusted communications partner in fast-paced, global environments.
Fatou Jeng is a senior broadcast compliance and regulatory consultant with a background in leadership roles at major UK broadcasters including Channel 4, Sky, and BT Sport. Her career spans a wide range of genres – from documentaries and entertainment to high-profile live sports such as the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, premium boxing events and UFC.
Now leading her own consultancy, Keno Media, Fatou advises clients on navigating the complex regulatory landscape, with a focus on content standards, innovation, and inclusive broadcasting.
Outside her consultancy work, Fatou is a passionate advocate for equity and representation in media. She serves on the boards of charitable organisations and regularly contributes to initiatives focused on empowering underrepresented voices. She also mentors early-career professionals, helping to build a more inclusive and socially conscious media landscape.
As an Observer Trustee at BCOMS, Fatou brings a rare blend of regulatory and strategic industry insight with a strong commitment to increasing visibility, participation, and representation across sports media.
Drew is a founder member and current Chair of BCOMS and has a long-standing commitment to help diversify the UK sports media.
An award-winning sports producer and journalist, Drew has written, produced and directed content for elite broadcasters and companies in Britain and the Middle East, including BBC Sport, Endemol, Abu Dhabi Media, Sport360, Aurora Media Worldwide, News UK and Discovery.
Born, raised and a resident of South East London, Drew is a Spurs fan and counts Muhammad Ali, Diego Maradona and Ronaldo (the original, Brazilian variant) among his sporting heroes.
Ladi Ajayi brings over 30 years of experience in public service and project management, having worked as a Manager of Sports and Physical Activity at Hackney Council. His career has been shaped by his own experiences in the care system in East London, and his passion for community engagement and sports. Ladi is also engaged in many different sports as a participant and administrator, and has served on multiple boards, contributing to various research initiatives.
He is the founder and CEO of Blacklight Consultancy having previously worked as Head of Sport for AKD Solutions a change management consultancy. Ladi brings extensive expertise in developing DIAP strategies, driving transformation through innovative thinking that promotes fairness, justice, and leadership.
He is committed to creating positive social impact by leveraging sports and organisational change to champion these values.
Marshall is a sports presenter and event host. He brings the perspective and experience of a relatively late starter in the sports media, having established himself as a Project Manager across a range of professional sectors.
His passion for change and huge range of skills has been central to BCOMS development in recent years.
