Job function is the day-to-day overseeing of the club’s new mobile app and short-form digital content, including but not limited to news stories, blogs and video
Main Responsibilities:
Work with Chelsea TV and the digital editorial team to ensure the mobile app is up to date with interesting, innovative and engaging content.
While operating within the department’s existing editorial framework, proactively conceive and create short-form content to suit the app’s needs, taking into account timing, audience and relevance.
Repurpose existing material to fit the club’s needs.
Create content to serve the needs of partners and other departments within the club (i.e. Chelsea Rewards, Chelsea TV promotion if required)
Facilitate the publishing of content on the club’s official website when there is an overlap with the mobile app in terms of content suitability.
Work matchdays, including at weekends, as required to ensure the mobile app and live match centre is functioning properly and includes up-to-date information on our game.
Liaise with the social media team to create social media-friendly content

Growth of audience online and through the club’s official mobile app
Compelling content published through the channels listed above
Person Spec:
Degree-level education
Two years’ relevant experience, preferably in a fast-paced editorial environment
Knowledge of and interest in football and an understanding of its broad audience
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as editorial judgment and a strong eye for imagery, with impeccable attention to detail
An interest in cultural trends and an eye for what’s coming next
Must be comfortable with out-of-hours work and working reactively to tight deadlines
A team player with confidence to take the lead and guide other employees where necessary
Familiarity of working with high-profile figures
