A first-half own goal from Christian Garcia and a second-half header from Declan Rice were enough to secure the win against a resolute Andorran side that remained organised and disciplined throughout.
The breakthrough came in the 25th minute, albeit with a stroke of fortune. Noni Madueke curled in a teasing cross from the right, and Garcia, under little pressure, mistimed his header and sent the ball past his own goalkeeper to give England the lead.
Despite their dominance, England struggled to carve out clear-cut chances before the break. Marcus Rashford fired narrowly wide, while Eberechi Eze saw a low effort blocked as Andorra defended in numbers.
Debutant Elliot Anderson provided composure in midfield and came close to marking his first appearance with a goal, denied only by a sharp save by Alvarez early in the second half.
England’s second came just after the hour mark in the 67th minute. Reece James, a constant threat down the right, delivered a superb cross for Rice, who arrived unmarked to head home from close range.
The game never truly threatened to ignite. England continued to push for a third, but the contest fizzled out in the closing stages. Andorra, meanwhile, failed to register a shot on target and were content to limit the damage . They remain bottom of Group K with four defeats from four.
For England, it’s now four wins from four, four clean sheets, and top spot in the group firmly secured.
