Executive Editor, (Live Streaming) @ BBC Sport


 

BBC Sport are looking for an Executive Editor for their Live Streaming service to be based at MediaCity, Salford.

Role Responsibility

 

Reporting to BBC Sport’s Head of Digital and Radio, the Editor will be part of the senior editorial and management team responsible for the delivery of a content strategy for live streaming online and on the Red Button. They will collaborate with both internal and external partners to enable a range of different sports governing bodies to stream their own events on the BBC’s ‘open platform’.  Key to this is the creation and maintenance of strong relationships with rights-holders. This role will ensure that BBC Sport is leading the way in delivering content which is innovative and engages hard to reach audiences.

The Editor will develop and manage delivery of this significant strand of BBC Sport’s strategy. They will also take a lead with our week-in, week-out coverage of Olympic sports across all platforms, working closely with our Major Events Editor. The role will exercise considerable discretion within broad limits of editorial reference and manage a diverse multi-skilled production team.
