BBC Sport are seeking experienced broadcast journalists/producers to join their pool of freelancers on their radio or TV output.

Role Responsibility

Radio:

  • Produce sports news bulletins on Radio 5live
  • Produce programmes on the BBC’s World Service network – everything from the daily Sport Today show, to the flagship weekend Sportsworld programme, featuring the very best in live event coverage including commentary from the Premier League
  • If you have a good voice, there are also opportunities to broadcast across our output.

TV:

  • Make great creative content for our TV Sports News team
  • You will be cutting pieces that will go out across bulletins and the longer form sports news programmes on the BBC News Channel and BBC World TV News
  • You will be an ideas person, also able to write strong copy, and chase guests from diverse backgrounds to appear on the sports news output
  • The BBC is looking to the future too and wants to find the next generation of Senior Duty Editor where you’ll be making the sports news on a daily basis, constructing running orders, making editorial decisions, outputting the programmes and leading the teams.
