Media and Communications Executive @ Team England

Team England is looking for a Media and Communications Executive.

The Role:

The Media and Communications Executive will work closely with CGE’s Media and Communications Manager to support the delivery of the organisation’s communications strategy. The role will involve working alongside CGE’s appointed PR and Communications agency to coordinate and contribute to all digital platforms. They will assist on the delivery of CGE’s external communication through media outlets and digital platforms with an aim to share our values, athlete stories and celebrate success to inspire the nation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the communications strategy and contribute to it in the development and planning phase
  • Support the promotion, co-ordination and facilitation of PR and communication campaigns and engagement activities
  • Work with the Media and Communications Manager to successfully increase and maintain following and engagement on social media platforms and monitor digital media analytics against KPIs
  • Work with CGE’s appointed PR and Communications agency to produce and deliver digital content for our channels, including:
    • Interviewing athletes for website content
    • Creating and producing engaging video content
    • Contributing creative ideas to the content plan to maximise on key milestones and opportunities
    • Maintain a strong online company voice through social media particularly in reactive content to ensure conversation and increased community engagement
    • Support the development of new and innovative ways of engaging with internal and external audiences via digital media
  • Assist with appearance and media requests for Team England athletes including organising transport, kit, payment, accommodation and briefings
  • Establish our web presence to boost brand awareness through working alongside internal and external teams to ensure website content is kept up to date, including producing news articles, creating and updating athlete profiles and sport pages
  • Create and distribute monthly newsletters to our consumer and stakeholder databases
  • Produce and proofread press releases to distribute to media outlets
  • Build and maintain relationships with key individuals in each participating sport’sNational Governing Body and the Birmingham 2022 Games partners
  • Support the Media and Communications Manager in planning effectively for Games- time and other key events in the run up to Birmingham 2022 to maximise positive engagement
  • Assist with planning for the media and activation strategy at Team England kitting out and act as communications lead for the eventKey Attributes of the Role:

  • An excellent and clear communicator
  • Have a strong understanding of a team ethic
  • Ability to operate well under pressure and plan and manage time effectively
  • Keen interest in social media and understanding of creating audience interest in a digital world
