BBC are looking for an Assistant Editor for their Five Live Sport coverage. The Assistant Editor works with the Editor, Radio Sport and programme teams to oversee the day-to-day output of 5 live Sport.

The successful candidate will lead a range of production teams and broadcasters, editing and producing output from the studio and Outside Broadcasts to the highest standards and agreed budgets and schedules

 

Contract Type: Full-Time Contract

We are looking for someone with a track record of delivering high quality programming, with a passion for journalism and live sport coverage

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a balanced and objective editorial judgement based on a thorough understanding of the target audience, editorial guidelines, programme and departmental objectives.

We are looking for a candidate with demonstrable managerial skills: selects teams effectively, establishes goals and utilises their capabilities. Possesses the ability to motivate staff to produce innovative and imaginative journalism.

An understanding and awareness of digital journalism and audience behaviour in this area.
