Short Form
Our Short Form AP’s produce audio and video material and supporting text for sporting events and news stories for a variety of outlets and platforms – e.g. Red Button, BBC Sport website, Get Inspired, Connected TV, mobile devices, Network Television, BBC News Channel, 5 Live, iPlayer and third-party social media networks. They generate and develop content and services of the highest standard whilst maintaining thorough knowledge of the relevant production systems and equipment and to know where to refer technical issues to be solved.
The Assistant Producer will respond flexibly and positively to changing and conflicting priorities across the output to ensure the success of projects within a fast-paced environment.
Peoples Cup
Assistant Producers contribute to the output by working as part of the larger Get Inspired team. You will be required to oversee, organise and produce single-camera shoots. As well as taking responsibility for planning shoots and edits across The People’s FA cup offering; researching archive and managing the Post-Production workflow. The role includes involvement at every stage of the production process including preparing/editing highlights for others, research and pre-production and postproduction.
Short Form
It’s essential our APs have substantial experience of working in television production, radio and/or Multimedia production, combined with a working knowledge of Multimedia production and its impact on the digital world. This experience should be coupled with proven editorial judgement, flair and the ability to make valid decisions quickly. Alongside a strong evidence of creativity and ability to translate this into engaging material designed to work across several different platforms.
Our AP will have experience of a wide variety of technologies, e.g. video processing and other encoding methods and working knowledge of and experience of video production processes, including, for example Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid, EVS-LSM, IP Director, After Effects etc.
The AP will need to be able to work on their own or in a team and be comfortable with the planning and running of multiple concurrent services or tasks
Peoples Cup
You will be passionate about Sport, know what makes a good story and relish the challenge of producing creative and ambitious short-form content. You will also have a good understanding of the editorial and production requirements of online VTs– working directly to the senior producer.
While this is their primary role, the successful candidate may also be asked to work across different programmes, outputs or platforms within BBC Sport.
