The Black Collective of Media in Sport (BCOMS) has launched a new report on the BCOMS Masterclass Programme.
BCOMS works for greater equity, diversity and inclusion in the sports media industry. Their flagship initiative, the Masterclass Programme, provides a platform for young, diverse individuals to participate in development sessions.
These sessions offer insights into various pathways within the industry, facilitate hands-on experience, and help participants expand their professional networks. Initially focused in London, the programme has expanded its reach in recent years, establishing additional sessions in the North and Midlands regions of England.
The London sessions are conducted in collaboration with industry leader Nike, while the Northern sessions receive support from BBC Sport. BCOMS effectively empowers aspiring individuals from underrepresented backgrounds through these strategic partnerships, paving the way for a more inclusive future in sports media.
