Role Responsibility

The Broadcast Assistant (BA) will primarily produce content for BBC Sport social media accounts. There will be three main areas of focus for the content you produce : maximising BBC Sport exclusive material, producing edits from sourced footage and re-versioning other BBC Sport content for digital video.

As part of the role, the BA will also produce digital video edits for the BBC Sport website as required.

The BA will also need to plan ahead, looking at what sports news stories need to be covered on social media

The successful candidates will also be expected to work across other areas of BBC Sport, including other radio outlets, plus TV and digital platforms, as required.

Both roles involve working shifts, including weekends.

The Ideal Candidate

They will have good knowledge or informed interest in a wide range of sports and sports news stories that have a broad appeal to a global audience. Experience of producing high-impact social media video is essential, while candidates should be proficient in sourcing material from social media and understand how to use social media to attract audiences to BBC programmes and content within BBC guidelines.

We are looking for people who keep abreast of production technology and techniques and have the ability to use the internet and social media as a research tool and a way to attract audiences to BBC programmes and content.
