Sport England are looking for a self-motivated Communications Lead to work with them on an exciting programme aimed at enabling people to live more physically active lifestyles.  This role would see you work in the South-East of the borough of Hackney initially. The successful candidate will join a small programme team tasked with delivering an ambitious programme of work.  

This role will have responsibility for shaping the public narrative for the programme, which will include providing information, as well as storytelling aimed at inspiring change.   The role will also work closely with the Council’s communications, culture and engagement team.

The successful candidate must bring enthusiasm and creativity to the role, along with demonstrable experience in communications, and the ability to communicate effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders (including local residents), using a variety of channels. 

This is a part-time post (3 days a week) and is funded by Sport England until 2022, with the possibility of a further 2 year extension.  This programme is one 12 Local Delivery Pilots funded by Sport England, aiming to to reduce inequalities in physical activity. As part of this role, you will also participate in a national Community of Practice with others involved in this work.
