FourFourTwo magazine: Production Editor


As Production Editor of FourFourTwo you will be in charge of making sure the print title is produced to its expected high standards, avoiding errors of all kinds, whether they be grammatical or legal, and liaising with our in-house repro department and art team to make sure print and production standards are maintained.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

With the Magazine Editor and Deputy Digital Editor (or Global Digital Editor) you will create a 12-month plan detailing all our major editorial events covering both print and online.

Staff and resourcing

Manage the Chief Sub-Editor’s time so he’s used effectively across digital and print.
Book freelance resource when needed as agreed with the Magazine Editor.

Day to day

Assist the Magazine Editor with quality control across everything that goes into the magazine: relevance, accuracy, tone, style, legality.
Keep the team on schedule and hitting deadlines set by the Magazine Editor.
Demand the highest standards of journalism.
Plan well ahead.
Have the initiative to suggest improvements to planned features or entirely new ones
Set a high standard in terms of general behaviour, appearance and professionalism.

Skills

Ability to read, correct, rewrite and legally check copy at speed
In-depth knowledge of the print process
Experience of GoPublish and InDesign CC
