The Guardian are running a work experience scheme for those who are considering a career in journalism as they believe there should be a better representation of our diverse society in the media, and each summer runs a work-experience scheme to exhibit this belief.


This year their London office is running a scheme for BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) applicants interested in sport and sports journalism. The placements are unpaid although they will reimburse reasonable daily travel expenses.


Successful applicants will spend a week in our London office on their busy sports desk working alongside our team of journalists and editors, learning how our award-winning newspaper and website are put together, and how they cover the biggest sporting events across the globe.

You will also benefit from having an experienced journalist as a mentor to offer careers advice.
