PRODUCTION EXECUTIVE @ BBC SPORT

BBC Sport are looking for a Production Executive who is responsible for providing strategic production management for a portfolio of content from idea to distribution.  They will lead and develop a team of production management staff, driving change and continuous improvement.

Role Responsibility

• Strategically manage a TV Sport slate from preparation for slate sign off through to delivery using specialist production management skills, knowledge and experience.
• They will also be responsible, reporting into the Controller of Production, for a small portfolio of additional programming.
• Reporting to the Heads of Production you’ll work in partnership with editorial colleagues to deliver the outstanding, distinctive, multi-platform content that BBC Sport is renowned for, by providing the ways to realise editorial ambitions within operational and financial constraints.
• The role will bring effective leadership to a team of production management staff across the TV Sport output and play a key role in maintaining a professional pan-BBC production management community.

Are you the right candidate?

• We’re looking for a talented, dynamic individual with considerable experience at senior Production Manager or Unit Manager level and you must have worked within a continuous news area and/or across a slate of programmes. 
• You will have extensive knowledge of end-to-end production and be able to work at a strategic level with editorial colleagues for a variety of aspects including compliance with BBC policies and managing the operational performance of the production(s).
• The ideal candidate will lead the production management team in order to manage and deliver output across the continuous output slate.
• You will be able to advise and influence senior colleagues in order to deliver the most cost-effective way to produce content across your slate.
• You will also drive collaboration across BBC Sport to achieve departmental and divisional strategic objectives.
• You will be an experienced Manager and enjoy developing the skills of your team.  You will be a confident communicator and able to liaise with a variety of colleagues within Sport and across BBC North.
