Production Manager, TV Sport @ BBC Sport

Role Responsibility

The successful candidate will professionally manage a portfolio of production(s) from preparation for green light through to delivery using specialist production management skills, knowledge and experience.

Reporting to a Head of Production, you’ll work in partnership with editorial colleagues to deliver the outstanding, distinctive, multi-platform content that BBC Sport is renowned for, by providing the ways to realise editorial ambitions within operational and financial constraints.

The role will bring effective leadership to production management staff on the production(s) and play a key role in maintaining a professional pan-BBC production management community.

We’re looking for a talented individual with a considerable knowledge of Live and Highlights programme making and experience of outside broadcasts.  You will have demonstrable working knowledge of end-to-end production being jointly accountable with editorial colleagues for a variety of aspects including compliance with BBC policies and managing the operational performance of the production(s).

The ideal candidate will shape and plan productions, manage and deliver them whilst planning and managing the productions finances across a varied Slate.

You will be an experienced Manager and enjoy developing the skills of your Production Management team.  You will be a confident communicator and able to liaise with a range of Producers, On Air talent, suppliers and Host Broadcasters and collaborate with the other Production Managers within Sport and across BBC North.

A real interest in sport is beneficial to enable efficient running of the output. The role is offered as continuing contract.
