Role Responsibility

The Social Media Producer will play a leading role in planning and delivering BBC Sports extensive social output.

The role requires extensive knowledge of social media best practices including video and a strong understanding of how to best reach younger audiences, both on social media and online. Organisational skills are key, as is the ability to lead and inspire others given this role also includes line management responsibility and a focus on developing our online output for younger audiences.

As part of the role, the Social Media Producer will involve working shifts, including weekends.

The Ideal Candidate

Our successful candidate will have extensive experience creating high-quality digital content across social media and online and display exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work under intense pressure. They will have experience planning content, managing other team members and ensuring output meets the highest of standards.

They will also have outstanding knowledge in a wide range of sports and sports news stories that have a broad appeal to a global audience. An understanding of how to use social media to attract audiences to BBC programmes and produce content within BBC guidelines is also desirable.
