Mirror Online Sport are looking for a Sports Social Writer to join our team here at Lower Thames Street, London.

The successful candidate will be working alongside the Mirror’s existing correspondent team and have a particular focus on news across a range of Sports, including interviews, feature writing, opinion and analysis. Within this role they will cover major stories and breaking news in a fast-paced digital environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate could be a recent graduate with some great experience and/or be an ‘old-hand’ at sports journalism.

One of the most important things to us is that you possess a NCTJ or BJTC qualification and have a minimum of a year’s experience in a digital sport environment.

You will have a good grasp of media law and social media writing. Good understanding of digital publishing including experience of using web publishing systems, understanding of SEO, digital audience behaviour and analytics.

Being a sports role, there are a variety of daytime, evening and weekend shifts encompassed in the role. Additional languages and a knowledge of new and emerging platforms would be a bonus.

Most importantly, you will be driven by sport with a keen interest in football.
